Obituary for Lawrence Gaylord "Larry" Johnson

Lawrence Gaylord "Larry"  Johnson
JOHNSON, LAWRENCE "LARRY" GAYLORD, age 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Prestige Centre.

Memorial Services for Larry will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, April 22, at 4 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center immediately following the service. The family will receive friends the day of the service beginning at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Prestige Centre. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Larry was born on October 15, 1935, in Elm Hall, the son of Ora and Alice (Long) Johnson. He married Sarah "Sally" Paisley on November 6, 1958. Larry owned and operated a 25-bed adult foster care facility, Country Place Adult Foster Care, and a 40-bed adult foster care facility, Shamrock Manor. He owned a bar, The Country Lounge, and also owned and operated a beer and wine distributorship, Johnson Distribution. Larry was a member of Knights of Columbus in Midland and the Mt. Pleasant Eagles Club. He loved working, spending time with his family, being outdoors and working with his tractor.

Larry is survived by his wife Sally; children: Bradley Johnson of Midland, Gail Ann, Philip Kautzman of Atlanta, GA, Mark, Kelli Johnson of Midland, Michael Johnson of Midland, Michelle, Pat Breyer of Naples, FL, and Julie, Daniel Miller of Mt. Pleasant; 15 grandchildren Kirk, Sara, Ali, Bo, Sarah, Nicholas, Christy, Kassie, Chad, Savannah, Logan, Kourtney, Nichole, Cole, Maddison, Joel, and Brandon; and 22 great grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son Brian Johnson; and siblings Clare Johnson, Ida Brooks, and Elaine Hundy.
