Leona Maxine Buchel, age 85, of Farwell, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at McLaren Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Leona will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 4, at 11 a.m. with Kevin Smith officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Gilmore Church of Christ Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday, September 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilmore Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Leona was born on June 12, 1930 in Gilmore Township, the daughter of Elam and Verna (Arthur) Seymour. She married Norman Buchel on April 15, 1950. Leona worked for Central Michigan University for over 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Gilmore Church of Christ, Rosebush TOPS, and the Rosebush Red Hats. Leona enjoyed working on crafts and spending time with her family.

Leona is survived by her daughters, Laraine (Robert) Forquer, Darlene Buchel, Anna Buchel, Karen (Michael) Straus, and Donna Buchel; grandchildren, LeAnne (Larry) Epling, Jeffrey (Angela) Straus, Jennifer (Adam) Osbourne, Victoria (Andrew) Roggenbuck, and Bret (Julie) Forquer; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Straus, Daniel and Matthew Roggenbuck, Drake Osbourne, Tim and Sara Belfry, and Connor Forquer; sister-in-law, Helen Griffin; and nephews, Gary Seymour and Ken (Jan) Seymour.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Grace Seymour.
