Leona June McDonald (Reed)
Leona June McDonald, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2016, under the care of Emmanuel Hospice.

A Funeral Mass for Leona will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, October 14, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Loren Kalinowski officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the Parish Hall following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Leona was born on June 22, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Walter and Lola (Cross) Reed. She married James F. McDonald at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant on September 30, 1950. Leona was a parishioner at Sacred Heart. She enjoyed bowling, horses, and was highly involved in family businesses. Family was her life.

Leona is survived by her children; Ron (Dianna) McDonald of Mt. Pleasant, Thomas (Kathryn) McDonald of Ithaca, Rose (Mark) Ludtke of Cedar Springs, and Mark (Amy) McDonald of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) McDonald, Amy (Brian) Johnson, Kevin (Sue) McDonald, Jillane (Chris) Sandro, Matthew (Rena) McDonald, Curtis (Ashley), Nathan, and Rachel Ludtke, Katie and Jim McDonald, Ashley Schafer, and Kelsi Croley; great-grandchildren, Alec and Kirsten McDonald, and Carter, Allison, Taylor Sandro, Lane, Lewis, and Isla Grace McDonald, Stella, Olivia, Ben Ludtke; and brother, Floyd (Shirley) Reed.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jim in 2010; parents; and brother, Raymond Reed.
