Obituary for Lillian L. Mumford (Flowers)

MUMFORD, LILLIAN L., age 99, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility

Funeral Services for Lillian will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 12 noon with Jason Wilson formerly of Church of Christ officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place in the Morgan Cemetery near Remus. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Lillian was born August, 16, 1917, in Remus, the daughter of Andrew and Bessie (Wood) Flowers. She married Basil Mumford on December 7, 1936, in Millbrook, MI. Lillian was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to write songs and poetry.

Lillian is survived by her children, Nancy (Charles) Walker of Lansing, Edward B. (Roxanne Gruss) Mumford of Mt. Pleasant, Daryl J. (Cindy) Mumford of Battle Creek, Ronald W. (Debbie) Mumford of Jackson, and Mark A. (Kathleen) Mumford of Mt. Pleasant; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Leonard “Sonny” VanBogelen of Kalamazoo; and sister, Fern W. Josefowicz of Muskegon

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Basil in 1987; sons, Robert and Dennis Mumford; parents; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
