Obituary for Lonnie Gene "John" Haggart

Lonnie Gene "John" Haggart, age 74, of Rosebush passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma.

Funeral Services for John will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Beavan officiating. Interment will follow in the Denver Township Cemetery. A Luncheon take place at the Rosebush First United Methodist Church following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, June 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to MidMichigan Home Care Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

John was born on December 23, 1941, in Rosebush, the son of Clarence and Daisy (McCloud) Haggart. John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Sherron Green on April 27, 1967. Sherron preceded John in death only 11 days prior. John worked as a plumber and journeyman master mechanic for Central Michigan University, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Union Local # 1568, enjoyed working on vehicles, and hunting. John will be remembered for his love of teasing his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his daughters, Lonna (Carl) Falk of Ithaca and Julie Warner of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Virgil (Joyce) Haggart, Robert (Shelby) Haggart, both of Rosebush, and Dan Haggart of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Donna Prout of Rosebush; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sherron Haggart on May 30, 2016; daughter, Jenni Haggart on June 27, 2009; parents; brothers, Myron, Cleo, Ronnie, Jim, Dean, and Max; sister, Phyllis; and two infant siblings.
