Obituary for Lorraine Mary Kanne

KANNE, LORRAINE MARY, age 85, of Newberry, MI, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MI, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Golden Leaves Living Center in Newberry.

A Memorial Service for Lorraine will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dana Hendershot officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging, Community Cancer Services of Isabella County, or Immanuel Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Lorraine was born on August 13, 1930 in Rexton, MI, the daughter of Cemelle M. and Esther Josephine (Derusha) Beaudoin. Lorraine married Art Kanne on July 23, 1977. Lorraine was extremely talented and enjoyed sewing and cake decorating. She was proud to be a member of the Sioux Tribe of Chippewa Indians. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving her diploma and graduating from high school at the age of 65.

Lorraine is survived by her 4 children, Karon Bragg (Daniel Polaski) of Holly, MI, Keith (Wendy) Bragg of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Stephen Bragg of Holland, MI, Daniel (Lynette) Bragg of Mt. Pleasant, MI; step-children, Barbara Kanne Sampson; Bonnie (Dave) Kanne Stenz; Bryan(Patricia) Kanne; Bernita (Scott) Kanne Erlander; Brenda (Dean) Kanne Fraley; Craig Dean; numerous grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Alford of Kalamazoo, MI, and Linda (Hank) Mroczkowski of Escanaba, MI.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Cemelle, sister Ruth Ann, and step-daughter Beverly.
