Obituary for Louise Rose Yuncker

YUNCKER, LOUISE ROSE, age 99, of Mt. Pleasant, slipped peacefully from this world in her sleep early on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018.

Funeral Services for Louise will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel, with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice Bay Region. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Louise was the youngest child of Frances and Louise Peters born in Beal City, Michigan on December 27, 1918. She married Howard Yuncker in 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1979. Louise was a long-time resident of the west side Mt. Pleasant area, working at Cascarelli's, Oil City, and the Hotel Chiefton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #110. Louise enjoyed visiting casinos, playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her beloved daughter Violet Dunevant in March 2016, son Clifford Lee Yuncker in November 2017, her brother, and her sisters.

Louise is survived her son William (Mary) Yuncker of Cedar Springs, daughter Kathleen (Ronald) Smith of Lansing; grandchildren Timothy (Joan) Phelps of Mt. Pleasant, Terry Edwards of Perry, Clifford Yuncker, Jr. of Shields, Machelle (Kelly) Yuncker of Lansing, Tina Yuncker of Weidman, Scott (Kim) Smith of Zeeland, and Steven Smith of Lansing; 12 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and Bill's step children and families.
