Obituary for Marguerite Irene Foglesong

Marguerite Irene  Foglesong
FOGLESONG, MARGUERITE IRENE, age 94, of Shepherd passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Carson City Hospital.
Funeral Services for Marguerite will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 16, at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Jean Thrush officiating. A Luncheon will be held immediately following at Reflections Reception Center at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 15 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging or Winn United Methodist Church.
Marguerite was born May 23, 1922 in Montcalm County to Scott and Anna (Malish) Gifford. She graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1941. Marguerite married Francis Foglesong on September 17, 1941 in Shepherd. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2008. Marguerite was a member of Winn United Methodist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher and the Rachel Circle. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She loved gardening, baking, and canning.
Marguerite is survived by her three children Andrea Ackels of Ashley, Arnold (Ruth) Foglesong of Ashley, and Diane (David) Esper of Brighton; 5 grandchildren Greg (Jamie) Foglesong, Jennifer Foglesong, Steven (Alisha) Foglesong, Matthew (Heather) Esper, and Allison Esper; 3 great grandchildren Makinna and Beckett Foglesong and Theodore Esper; sister Shirley Zapfel of Chicago; and a sister in law Fran Gifford of Riverdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law Larry Ackels, sister Esther, 2 brothers Stanley and Jack, and great grandson Esdon.
