WING, MARTHA GERTRUDE, age 76, of Lake passed away peacefully on Saturday, at 3:10 p.m. on 3/10/2018, surrounded by her family and the Angels of Woodland Hospice House.

Funeral Services for Martha will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 14, at 12 noon with Pastor Larry Wonsey officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow the Committal service in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund or Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Martha was born on June 5, 1941, in Swartz Creek, the daughter of Hollis and Nellie (Granger) Atherton. Martha was joined in marriage of Dwaine Wing and while they only had a short time together, it was a love for the ages. Martha spent her life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Martha was artistic, loving to paint, sew, and write, giving her creations as gifts to her family and friends. Throughout her life she was also a best friend and confidant to many and she loved to share a cup of coffee and smile or a good joke. She has passed on to her family a love of God as well doing the right thing and a wicked sense of humor.

Martha was loved and will be missed by her six children: June Scheall (Billy Nichols) of Lake, Bill Scheall (Bobbi Benjamin) of Lake, Rosetta (Orville) Smith of Manistique, Rick (Sandy) DeFoy of Clare, Mick (Kathy) DeFoy of Lake, and Angie (Ed) Elganbaihy of Bayonne, NJ. She was the cherished grandma of several grandkids, and many great-grandkids. Martha was an aunt/second mom to many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a sister, Mary Cook and brother, Jim Atherton

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dwaine Wing; parents; and brothers, Raymond and Henry Atherton.
