Obituary for Marvin Ray "Bud" Parks

Marvin Ray "Bud"  Parks
Marvin "Bud" Ray Parks, age 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Margaret's Meadow in Remus.

Funeral Services for Bud will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Fredrick officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment of ashes will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hometown Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Bud was born on April 25, 1928, in Missouri, the son of Earl and Miranda (Gaddy) Parks. Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Patricia Ann Raymond on December 16, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant. Bud worked as a LPN for the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center for 28 years and a bus driver for the Mt. Pleasant School system for 20 years. Bud had previously been a member of the Lansing Homing Pigeon Club, the Grand Rapids Racing Pigeon Club, and the Shepherd VFW.

Bud is survived by his children, Lorraine (Dan) Kirchner of Shepherd, Jeanette Parks of Mt. Pleasant, Earl "Buddy" Parks, Sr. of Flint, Mark (Kathy) Parks of Mt. Pleasant, Matthew (Cheryl) Parks of Tampa, FL, and Sharlene (Charles) Lauer of Marshall, NC; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Diane (Harold) Leffingwell of Mt. Pleasant.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Pat on August 2, 2004; infant daughter, Kathleen; parents; and brothers, Robert and Lester.
