Obituary for Mary Lou DeBoer

DeBOER, MARY LOU, age 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Mary Lou will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will follow burial in the Reflections Reception Center at Clark Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Mary Lou was born November 22, 1939, in Fremont Township, the daughter of Clifford and Fern (Nelson) Holmes. She was a hair stylist and owned and operated Campus Salon in Mt. Pleasant for over 20 years. Mary Lou married Thomas A. DeBoer on June 10, 2000 in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2016. Mary Lou enjoyed playing cards and scrabble, puzzles, coloring, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Theresa (Kerry) McClain of Weidman, Allen (Sandy) Britten of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Amanda, Erin (RJ), Benjamin (Lindsey), Adam (Kristen), and Alex (Josie); 6 great grandchildren; and brothers Larry (Linda) Holmes and Richard Holmes, both of Vestaburg.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jerry Holmes, sisters Marlene Wiltshire and Lorene Davis.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Prestige Centre and the Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant for their compassionate care.
