Mary Martha Phillips, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Mary will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 14, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Beavan of the Rosebush United Methodist Church officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Caring Hospice or the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Mary was born on October 21, 1922, in Warren, IN, the daughter of Roy and Nova (Campbell) Brown. She married Norris "Joe" Phillips on October 26, 1943. Mary worked for Holley Carburetor in Clare. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, and quilting.

Mary is survived by her children, Shirley (Gary) House, Sharon Carrier, both of Rosebush, and Donald (Sue) Phillips of Ovieda, FL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchild; brother, Ronnie Brown of Sumner, Bob (Joyce) Brown of Mt. Pleasant, and Paul Brown of NV; sisters, Betty (Calvin) Keller of Mt. Pleasant, Doris Billsby of Harrison, and Shirley (Bernard) Lamereoux of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Phillips; daughter, Sharlene Phillips; son-in-law, Seth Jay Carrier; great-granddaughter, Leah Carrier; brothers, Ray Brown, Clyde Brown, and Raymond Brown; and sisters, Minnie Mae Brown, Iris Muskgrave, Ruth Ann Brown, Fern Bellinger, and Georganna Wilson.
