My heart is heavy for all of the Murphy family members after the loss of Matt way to soon. Matt and my brother, Nick Pflaum were good friends for many years growing up and graduated high school together. Both shared a love of motor sports as I do. Our family lost Nick to a tragic accident in January of this year. This summer I brought Nick's Harley (I know, not a Honda) back from Florida and began working on it. I've found comfort in having that bike around as provides a means to stay connected to Nick.
About a week before Matt passed, I stopped into the shop to get Matt's advise on some work I wanted to do to the Harley in the off season. Matt recalled Nick calling him from Florida for advise on the Harley before Nick passed. Matt and I talked for about an hour that day. Though it didn't seem significant at the time, I'm thankful I got the chance to have that conversation with Matt that day.
I hope family and friends can find comfort in knowing Matt has found his sister, Tara, his buddy, Nick and all his other family members and friends that have passed before him. Until we see each other again, save us a place for the rest of us, brother.

The services his week were a testament to how many people loved and respected Matt. This quiet man made a difference in in other people's lives and the memories will live on for a very long time. We miss you terribly! Watch over Erica, Remmie and BoBo. They will always need you.
No words can express the sorrow we feel for your family. Our sons knew Matt and they too share the love of motorcycling. Our prayers are with you all and we wish you inward peace .
