LONG, MICHAEL OLIVER, 91, of Lake passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Prestige Place Assisted Living in Clare.

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Garfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Michael was born July 23, 1924, in Breckenridge, TX to Orville Oliver and Iva (Walser) Long. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943-1945. He married Wilma Hartman on October 14, 1947, in Detroit. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2003. Mike retired from Flakt Corp after several years as a project manager building air handling systems throughout the entire United States. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 80. Mike loved his family, working outside, and enjoyed fishing in Florida. He was also a member of the Eagles #3761 in Lake, Moose Lodge #2268 in Farwell, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Mike is survived by his 2 daughters Connie (Creig) Grey of Mt. Pleasant, Vicki (Timothy) Phelps of Lake; 7 grandchildren Cheryl Campbell of N.C., Lisa McCatty of MI, Robert Wade (Laurie) Hartman of AR, Cynthia Wisneski of TN, Vicki Yazzie of MI, Chad (Sarah) Hartman of AR, and Michael (Lisa) McCatty of MI; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Ella Zastrow of Mt. Pleasant.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma Long, son Carl Hartman, sister Helen Richie, 2 brothers Pat and Kenny Long; in-laws Frank (Clara) Hartman, Ed (Sara) Hartman, Mack Hartman, Chloe (Ray) Savage, and Doris Hartman.
