Obituary for Michael Dean McQuaid

Michael Dean  McQuaid
MCQUAID, MICHAEL DEAN, age 50, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, April 7, 2017.

A Memorial Mass for Mike will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the Eagle's following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or Meals on Wheels. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mike was born on July 12, 1966, in Alma, the son of Fred and Virginia (Pearsall) McQuaid. Mike graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1984, playing 3 sports in four years, baseball (a good catcher and nice relief pitcher), football (feistiest guard they had), and basketball (slow feet). He was a die hard Michigan fan. Mike worked as a trade carpenter and was known as "Mr. Fix-it". He enjoyed playing golf and woodworking in his spare time. Mike was passionate about music and loved going to concerts. Mike was proud to be an organ donor.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Maisie McQuaid; parents; sister, Ann (Steve Skalitzky) McQuaid; and nephews, Ryon and Sean Skalitzky; many cousins including close cousins, Andy Ryon and Stephanie McQuaid; close friend, Kristie Rendon; and best friend and companion, Jager.

Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Tim "Blade" McQuaid.
