SHANTEAU, MYRTLE M., age 85, of Weidman, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant.

Per Myrtle's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Myrtle was born January 8, 1933, in Sturgis, Michigan, the daughter of Hiram and Bessie (Beers) Sexton. She married Charles Henry Shanteau, Sr. on October 20, 1951, in Remus, and he preceded her in death. Myrtle enjoyed reading, movies, painting, sewing, and raising wild animals. Most of all, she loved her family.

Myrtle is survived by her children: Connie (Bill) Mount of Remus, Charles Henry (Brenda) Shanteau of Weidman, Ginger (Sam) Wilson of Remus, Roger Dale Shanteau of Weidman, Mark Shanteau of Mt. Pleasant, Ann (Tim) Sowle of Weidman, and Jeff (Janet) Shanteau of Remus; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers Robert William (Sharon) Sexton of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Leroy Sexton of Weidman; sister Iva Johnson of Sand Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; son Thomas Anthony Shanteau; and grandchildren Nicholas Shanteau, Christopher James Shanteau, and Zachery Wilson.
