Obituary for Noah "Adam" Shipman

SHIPMAN, NOAH "ADAM", age 83, of Coleman, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his home.

A Memorial Service for Adam will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, February 25, at 1 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends the day of the service beginning at 12 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Adam was born on February 22, 1934, on Walpole Island, Ontario, Canada, the son of Edward and Mable (Tooshkenig) Shipman, Sr. Adam was a proud member of Walpole Island First Nation Tribe. He worked as a cement mason for Western Waterproofing for over 20 years and was a proud member of his Local Union. Adam married Thelma Henry on August 29, 1987 in Algonac, Michigan. He and Thelma enjoyed many road trips to the Upper Peninsula. Adam also loved to be on the water boating and fishing. He was very spiritual and strongly believed in his religion.

Adam is survived by his wife, Thelma Henry-Shipman of Coleman; children; step-children; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Edward "Junior" Shipman of Walpole Island; and his four-legged companion Lola.

Adam was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings.
