Paul Marinus Nielsen 67 of rural Harrison, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Paul was born August 17, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Robert Marinus and Barbara Marie (Merrifield) Nielsen. Paul was united in marriage to Valerie F. Wallace on June 26, 1971 in Westland, Michigan.
Mr. Nielsen had resided in Harrison since 1998, moving from Inkster, Michigan. He retired from Ford Motor Company after nineteen years of employment. Paul enjoyed music and playing the drums, fishing, hunting, trail riding, motorcycling, tinkering in his garage, sitting around campfires with his family and friends, cooking, baking, especially his famous pumpkin cookies and rum balls.
Mr. Nielsen is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Mrs. Valerie Nielsen of Harrison, two sons; Eric Nielsen and wife Billie Jo of Inkster and Robert Nielsen and wife Darlene of Harrison, eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one sister, Cheryl Aube and husband Howard of Garden City, Michigan, one brother, Keith Nielsen of Lake, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Nielsen was preceded in death by his parents.
