RECKER, PHYLLIS KAY, age 73, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her home.

Funeral Services for Phyllis will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Biedenbender of Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Lincoln Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or the Mid Michigan Cancer Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Phyllis was born November 21, 1943, the daughter of Clair and Evelyn (Erskin) Bradley. She married James Recker on November 2, 1963, in Vestaburg. Phyllis was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, receiving a 30-year plaque for bowling in State Competition. Phyllis also enjoyed doing crafts, porcelain dolls, gaze balls, gardening, cooking, canning, and feeding calves.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, James Recker; children, Darsha (Paul) Cole of Mt. Pleasant, Vonda (Gary) Kushmaul of Mt. Pleasant, Rachelle “Shelly” (James) Short of Shepherd, and Jim (Tammy Pierce) Recker, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren, Derrick (Trisha) Cole, Candace Cole, Deena Cole, Tyler Recker, Travis Moose, Savanah (Dustin) Baning, Tanner Moose, and Stayse Dingman; 4 great-grandchildren, Mason Koutz, Madison Koutz, Alyssa Cole, and Nolan Cole; and sister, Deloris “Dode” (Leland “Tiny”) Helfer of Alma.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Nolan Haynes; and brothers, Richard and Jim Bradley.
