BEAN, RICHARD ELGIN, age 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed Friday, August 4, 2017, under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Funeral Services for Richard will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Corby Blehm officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Following the Committal Service, a luncheon will be held at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 7, and from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, August 8. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral.

Richard was born on May 20, 1935, in Franklin, PA, the son of Elgin and Iza (Bell) Bean. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955. Richard was employed as an electrician for Leasher Electric for 25 years and was a firefighter for the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department for 31 years, retiring in 1991. Richard married Pamela Mogg on September 9, 1990, in Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife, Pam Bean, of Mt. Pleasant; children, Gwendolyn Bean of Okemos, Connie (Lanny) Rease of North Bradley, Colleen (Craig) Pulcifer of Clare and Richard (Carlie) Bean, Jr. of Remus; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Mike (Pat) Mogg of Blanchard, Joe (Linda) Mogg of Mt. Pleasant, Ed (Annette) Mogg of Mt. Pleasant, Tom Mogg of Farwell, and Jason (Amy) Mogg of Harrison; sisters-in-law, Karen (Jim) Gillespie of Farwell, Cindy (John) Goffnet of Mt. Pleasant, Ellie (Alan) Roethlisberger of Shepherd and Anita Mogg of Mt. Pleasant; and special friends, Dick Wood and Lynn Jones.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Nathan Gepford; and sister Jeanne Powell.
