Obituary for Richard Scott "Rich" Hopkins

Richard Scott "Rich"  Hopkins
HOPKINS, RICHARD SCOTT, age 56, of Coleman passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, IN.

Funeral Services for Richard will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 28, at 11 a.m. with Terry Kunst officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow at the Wesleyan Church in Coleman. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Richard was born on January 23, 1960, in Passaic, NJ, the son of Kenneth and Grace (Werling) Hopkins. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Army, serving a year in Iraq. He retired from the Army in 2015 with 20 years of service. He married Rachel Toth on October 11, 2000 in Midland. Richard loved to watch Nascar, hunt, cook, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a handy man that could fix just about anything.

Richard is survived by his wife, Rachel; children, Justin Hopkins, Stephanie Hopkins, and Bradley Hopkins; step-daughter, Taylor Owens; siblings, Nick Hopkins, Karen Wagner, and Nancy Schwendeman; step-mother, Maureen Hopkins; 2 step-brothers; 2 step-sisters; and several nieces.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
