ALBAUGH, ROBERT CHARLES "CHARLIE", age 83, of Shepherd passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Funeral Services for Charlie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 21, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gene Haymaker and Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at Maranatha Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Kelly Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Charlie was born on March 30, 1935 in Lincoln County, WV, the son of Harry and Mildred (Abbott) Albaugh. He married Sonja McGuirk on October 18, 1958. Charlie graduated from Shepherd High School. He worked as a Union Steward for 35 years at Dow Chemical, and served as Greendale Township Trustee for over 25 years. Charlie was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church and loved spending time with family. He enjoyed hunting, especially in Colorado, fishing, and coaching little league. Charlie never missed an opportunity to watch his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sonja; children, Chuck (Dorreen) Albaugh, Marjorie (Joe) Kequom, and Bill (Jill) Albaugh, all of Shepherd; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Hubble, Tomas (Amanda) Albaugh, Brooke Kequom, Lizzie Albaugh, and Lilly Albaugh, all of Shepherd; great-granddaughters, Emma Hubble and Jayla Kequom; his only brother, who is as close as a son, Joe (Diane) Albaugh of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Menard) Nehrt of Mt. Pleasant; nephew Joe (Dacia) Albaugh of Spring Lake, niece Kara (Paul) Elmore of Mt. Pleasant; and many other nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Pat, Jim, and Leroy McGuirk; and sister-in-law, Rose Marie West.
