Obituary for Robert Stewart Cook
COOK, ROBERT STEWART, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Woodland Hospice House.
Funeral and Committal Services for Robert will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, 2175 South Coldwater Road, Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor David Kipfmiller officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the Service at the Reflections Reception Center, 114 S. Bradley Street, Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Service on Wednesday, April 13, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and the church.
Robert was born on April 2, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of William and Maycie (Nicholson) Cook. He married Christina Richardson on September 16, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church. Robert loved farming and was a dairy farmer his entire life on the family farm which was established in 1881. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the MMPA. Robert also enjoyed fast-pitch softball.
Robert is survived by his wife, Christina Cook; his daughter Sandra Ann (Larry) Block; his grandchildren, Stewart Block and Neal Block, all of Mt. Pleasant; his daughter-in-law Marjorie (Prout) Brownson; and his sister-in-law Elsie Dodge of Owosso. Robert was preceded in death by his son Stewart Neal Cook on May 25, 2000.
