WELSH, ROBERT JAMES, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017, at home.

Funeral Services for Bob will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 2, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the Leaton United Methodist Church following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Leaton United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Bob was born on August 9, 1928, in Isabella County, the son of William and Katie (Robert) Welsh. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Betty Lou Nestle on October 22, 1950, in Leaton. Robert worked for the United States Post Office.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Cindy (Butch) Strom; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry (Martha Gene) Welsh and Wes (Joan) Welsh.

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky DuHamel; parents; brother, Keith Welsh; and sister, Annabelle Holcomb.
