TRAVER, SEGWEN MARIAH, age 39, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.

Funeral Services for Segwen will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Pego officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at Reflections Reception Center after burial. The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Segwen was born October 31, 1980, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Rocky Lunham and Elaine (Pego) Shawnoo. She was a proud member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Segwen graduated from Mt. Pleasant Schools and worked for the Soaring Eagle Casino for several years.

Segwen is survived by her husband, John Melvin Traver; children Oojaun Potter, William Potter, Zaagidiwin Traver, Shad Traver, and Gimiwan Traver, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Ava, Ameliana, and Giiwedin; father “Rocky” Lunham and Dad Kevin Shawnoo, both of Kettle Point, Ontario, Canada; sisters Shawana Chippeway, Mary (Lorenzo) Waboose Claudio, and Sunshine Rose Shawnoo, all of Mt. Pleasant; and many other extended family members.

Segwen was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents James and Grace Pego, and Gladys and Melvin Lunham.
