Obituary for Shirley Osborn

Shirley  Osborn
OSBORN, SHIRLEY JUNE, age 75, of Lake, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Woodland Hospice.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Brown's Corners Church, 5540 S. Clare Ave. Clare, MI 48617 with Pastor Herb Bowers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or Clare County Senior Services. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Shirley was born on January 30, 1942, in Clio, the daughter of Stewart and June (Wood) Batterbee. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1960. Shirley married Kenneth Osborn on July 2, 1960 in Clio. Shirley was a cook for Clio Area Schools for 20 years, and Farwell Area Schools for 16 years. Shirley loved bowling, cooking, and reading. She was a past Brownie leader, and enjoyed traveling. Shirley was active in the Boosters Club at Lake George, and loved being around people. She liked all games, but was especially good at Euchre. Above all, Shirley loved spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her husband Kenneth Osborn of Lake; daughter Kimberly (Barry) Soldan of Clio, son Kenneth H. (Kathleen) Osborn of Lake; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister Charlotte Bloomfield Mallow of Clio; brother Donald (Virginia) Batterbee of Clio; sister-in-law Rose (Dan) Laugavitz of Reed City; Shirley Batterbee of Davison; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Vicki Osborn in 1994, her brother Ronald Batterbee; and mother-in-law Jane Waggoner Osborn.
