Obituary for Stanley Edward Martin

Stanley Edward  Martin
MARTIN, STANLEY EDWARD, age 60, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant.

A Memorial Service for Stanley will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 29, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Dana Hendershot officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or the Isabella County Restoration House (Homeless Shelter). Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Stanley was born on November 21, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Norbert and Mary (McCormick) Martin. He married Peggy Loper on December 20, 1985 in Mt. Pleasant. Stanley received his journeyman's license for plumbing from Mid Michigan Community College and worked as a plumber for Central Michigan University for 40 years. While working at CMU, Stanley also owned his own garbage disposal and gravel hauling businesses. He farmed as a hobby, enjoyed going to auctions and tinkering on cars and tractors.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 30 years, Peggy; children, Tony (Jayme) Martin and Mary Catherine "Katie" Martin, both of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas Martin; brothers, Steven (Marlene) Martin and Scott (Courtney) Martin, both of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Jean (Rob) Hood of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
