VERTZ, SUE ELLEN, age 59, of Petoskey, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant.

A Memorial Service for Sue will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to HATS. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Sue was born November 18, 1958, in Lansing, the daughter of Archie and Esther (Evans) McMillan. She worked as a floor person at Soaring Eagle Casino. Sue was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. She loved beading, bowling, and reading. Sue was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved nothing more than time spent with her family.

Sue is survived by her brother Donald McMillan of Mt. Pleasant; 6 sisters: Audrey Hegenbarth of Minnesota, Arvilla (Mike) Bateman of East Lansing, Joan (Brent) Brown of Simpsonville, SC, Janice (Richard) Beckhorn of Lansing, Marie Simmons of Mt. Pleasant, Carol (Richard) Hubble of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gary Vertz; 3 brothers Archie, Jerry, and Bruce McMillian; and 2 sisters Joyce Rueckert and Judith Tackett.
