Thomas Albert DeBoer, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Tom will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 14, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Don Henkes officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Tom was born on August 3, 1934 in Grand Rapids, the son of Bernard and Elizabeth (VanDyke) DeBoer. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Michigan Air National Guard. He married Mary Lou Holmes on June 10, 2000. Tom worked for Steelcase for over 22 years. Tom was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was proud to serve as an Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Mt. Pleasant; children, Sheryl (Jeff) Sweeney of Midland, Mark DeBoer of Holland, Theresa (Kerry) McClain of Weidman, and Allen (Sandy) Britten of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Maureen) DeBoer of Grand Rapids and William (Alice) DeBoer of Colorado Springs; sister, Mary (Joe) Pulaski of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Rose DeBoer; many nieces, nephews, and his Grandville family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry DeBoer.

Tom's family would like to give a special thanks to the Prestige Centre for their care and comfort over the last few years.
