Obituary for Thomas Charles Mey

MEY, THOMAS CHARLES, age 62, of Mt. Pleasant, beloved husband and father, passed too soon on Monday, March 13, 2017, at his home under the care of Mid Michigan Hospice in the presence of his family.

Funeral Services for Tom will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 17, from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Tom was born on December 31, 1954, in Saginaw, the son of Walter and Mary (Stenroos) Mey. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married Marybeth Leonard on January 15, 1988, in Mt. Pleasant. Tom worked as a bus driver for the Mt. Pleasant School System for 31 years and ICTC for 20 years. Tom's family was the center of his life. He enjoyed staying connected and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marybeth; children, Melanie (Michael) Gage of Warr Acres, OK, Amanda (Nicholas) Grencz of Mt. Pleasant, Charles (Christina) Mey of Oklahoma City, OK, Thomas Charles Mey II of Mt. Pleasant, and Vanessa (Lance Schoonover) Mey of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, and Alayna Gage, Ondreya, Lillyian, and Kaelynn Mey, Ariana and Kieana Rice, Tabitha Staats, Zoey, Ember, and Lea Grencz; brothers, John Mey of Sherman Oaks, CA, and Tim (Cathy) Mey of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Marcia (Mark) Rice of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
