Violet Mary Dunevant, age 79; of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the Prestige Centre.

Funeral Services for Violet will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Loren Kalinowski officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Violet was born on June 4, 1936 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Howard and Louise (Peters) Yuncker. She married Stanley Howard Phelps in 1956. Stanley and Violet had one son together. Stanley preceded her in death. Violet married Ford Dunevant. She worked for the State Home in Mt. Pleasant as the Head of Housekeeping for 35 years. Violet was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed Golfing and farming.

Violet is survived by her son, Tim (Joan) Phelps of Mt. Pleasant; step-children, Al (Lori) Dunevant of Oil City, Terry (Hoko) Dunevant of California, and Vonda (Mark) Delorenzo of Weidman; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; mother, Louise Yuncker of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Bill (Mary) Yuncker of Cedar Springs and Cliff Yuncker of Shields; sister, Kathleen (Ron) Smith of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her husbands and father.
