Obituary for Virginia Lucille Rauch (Rutter)

RAUCH, VIRGINIA LUCILLE, age 94, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at MediLodge of Mt. Pleasant.

A Memorial Service for Virginia will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in the Broomfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Virginia was born on February 13, 1922, in Clare, the daughter of Lewis and Ethel (Strouse) Rutter. She married Marvin Rauch on October 23, 1949 in Clare. Virginia worked as a telephone operator for several years. She was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church and also attended several years at the Evart Free Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Osceola County Commission on Aging as a driver for over 25 years. She was also a child caretaker and loved doing that for over 15 years. In her younger years, Virginia enjoyed fishing.

Virginia is survived by sons, Raymond Rauch and Eugene (Tammy) Rauch; foster children, Chris Cataldo and Thelma Cataldo; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Sandy (Larry) Bellinger and Marredda Magnus.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; infant daughter, Eloise; parents; sisters, Dorothy Decker and Marion Magnus.
