Jane was born on March 11, 1934 in Midland, Michigan to Harvey Herbert Thurlow and Juanita Louise Spyker Thurlow. Her young life was spent in the Freeland/Midland area where she and big brother Vernell, were inseparable best friends. She relocated to Washington State in September of 1960 where she enjoyed a long career at Puget Power for 23 years. She was able to retire in June of 1987 when she met and married the love of her life, Hugh (Mac) Macdonald.

Jane was an amazing mother to three beautiful children, Gary, Gloria and Gail. Motherhood was abruptly cut short at the death of her children during the summer of 1959. The love for her little ones grew stronger through the years and her ultimate goal was to be worthy of that glorious reunion.

The years following her marriage to Mac were filled with happiness that Jane had never known. There were many trips all through the United States and Hawaii and Europe. They laughed, they played and had endless amounts of joy. They were sweet, united companions who brought a special light to those they associated with.

Jane is survived by four siblings, Harvey Vernell Thurlow of Midland, Kathlene Kay Brant of Mt. Pleasant, Joellynn Hartnett of Phoenix, AZ ., Ernest Beaman of Cadillac and Mac’s children, Diane Bumstead and Tom Macdonald both of Washington. She was the proud Aunt of 17 nephews and nieces and sixty one grand nephews and nieces. She also leaves a special family, Dale and Christy Pickering and children, who were like a son and daughter to her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mac, her parents, her three children and one nephew.
