Condolence From: mike maran
Condolence: I recently found out about Dave's death. I know he had health struggles after his stroke, but it still came as a shock.
Dave and I were about the same age. But I never knew him years ago because I went to MPHS and he went to Sacred Heart. I got to know him about 20 years ago in connection with his auction business. Enjoyed his company enormously. We had a common interest in antiques and Mt. Pleasant history, about which he knew a lot. Nobody could beat him on those carnival glass patterns (something he learned from his dad).
Dave was a broad-minded fellow and intolerant of any kind of falsehood or prejudice. I remember a guy made a racist comment near us once and Dave went ballistic. He explained that he couldn't abide that sort of thinking after serving in Viet Nam with a black army buddy who became like a brother to him.
Dave was a remarkable guy and my only regret is that I didn't get to know him sooner.

Condolence: I am originally from Mt. Pleasant and knew Dave from the antique community. I enjoyed going to his auctions so much, and appreciated his enthusiasm for antiques. He was very intelligent with a great sense of humor. My condolences to your family.
