Condolence: I was blessed to know Mr. Hagar as a teacher and as a member of Strickland Baptist Church. I enjoyed every day in freshman class I am sure, but I will never forget the Mr. Hagar from church. As I sit here and remember him I smile and hear his whistling. I will never forget his whistling and his smile. My prayers and thoughts are with you as you travel down the road of grief but I am smiling with you as I think of him strolling the streets of gold and whistling all of the hymns.

Condolence: Dear Leslie, Please know that Rich and I are thinking and praying for your family. We enjoyed the few times we got to be with you and Lowell in social settings--usually at Judy Bailey's house :) Lowell had such an exuberant spirit with a servant's heart. That is a pretty amazing combination in any human being. We are praying for God to give you the peace and comfort that only He can give you. Katie & Rich Stanton

Condolence: Lowell was one of the most positive people I have ever known; always he saw the good in others and put forth effort to help them realize their worth. As a colleague he was always willing to participate, to help, to be part of the solution. Kind, gentle and forever thoughtful, Lowell will be missed and the those whom he influenced will forever be grateful.

Condolence: Leslie (and all),

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I will greatly miss seeing Lowell when we visit Community Church for VBS or other functions.

Lowell has been a very significant influence in my life as both a follower of Christ and a public school teacher. As a young teacher, I enjoyed observing his classroom, and years later I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Lowell about his teaching practices. My major takeaway from Lowell is that he was unashamed of his faith in Christ, he would openly let it be known, yet let his life and way of treating other people be the true witness of his faith. This practice has greatly influenced how I conduct my day-to-day teaching in my own classroom today.

I am missing you, friend, and look forward to worshiping Jesus with you soon.

Condolence: I was lucky enough to have Mr. Hager for English and be his teachers aid in 1999. He was one of my favorite teachers. He always wore a big smile and made sure that anyone he interacted with left him doing the same. He was a great teacher that touched countless students and people in the community and will be greatly missed.
