Grandma, Some of my best memories were at your house with you. I loved being able to spend the night and hated when my mom and dad would make us go home. I remember you always yelling at me and Sara to stop "giggling" because we were driving your crazy. I remember seeing you and Nonie drinking coffee and talking. I remember you taking care of Frankie and Nonie when they were sick. I remember coming to your house every day my first semester of college because I hated it. We would watch Heraldo on tv and talk. I remember all your good food you cooked- especially my favorite- your corn chowder! I remember all the scary movies you let us watch and getting me, Kim, and Sara our favorite dolls- Timmy, Lisa, and Darrin. (Just realizing how weird Sara and Kim were for naming their dolls after their cousins). I remember you sewing a lot. You made my poodle skirt for me a few years ago for Halloween. We have a lot of the same bad habits- keeping everything because we might find it useful one day- and the same taste in clothes and shoes. Sara often has said to me that something I am wearing reminds her of something you would wear! :) I remember you babysitting Chandra and Rachel. And Elizabeth and Emily. You took care of every single one of us- all of your grandkids! I love you so much. You have always been one of my favorite people on Earth! Don't forget what I told you! Love you!

Gina, your oldest and your favorite (hehehe) I Love you!
Mom, I tried to find a poem that was fitting, although I truly know in my heart that you didn't feel that no one cared. It was your stubbornness to stay in your home all alone when I knew you couldn't take care of yourself anymore that drove me crazy. You Mattered To Me You lived your life thinking that no one cared You thought you were all alone, your heart feeling tattered I am here to tell you that you were wrong 'Cause you see - Mom - to me you mattered I loved you when you were angry and mean I loved you when you were kind as could be I loved you not just because I had to I loved you because you mattered to me It hurts to know that now you're gone And never will your face again I see I hurt not because I am supposed to I hurt because you mattered to me I have to live on each day without you It doesn't get easier as it is supposed to be I feel the loss of you to my very soul Because you see - Mom - you mattered to me Your touch, your smile, your funny wit The times it was just you and me I will miss you, Mom, with all my heart 'Cause you still matter to me...
